About me

In private practice since qualifying as a Counsellor in 1995, I have gained considerable experience working with clients with a wide range of presenting issues.  Working with individuals and couples, my clients come from all walks of life. I do not discriminate around age, personal beliefs, Nationality, Religious, Political or Sexual orientation.

Apart from private referrals, I have been an Affiliate Counsellor with Kent County Council for 26 years, providing counselling to council employees, including those working in the NHS and Education and other EAPs (Employee Assisted Programs). I worked for four years as a Student Counsellor within a Further Education College that offered residential care to British and foreign students.

I am a longstanding member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy with whom I am both Registered and Accredited as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

I recognise the need for, and abide by, the Professional and Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the BACP. The need for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and on-going, regular supervision of my own client work is an essential part of that requirement. I also have many years’ experience of being in personal therapy and believe in the efficacy and the potential for change that this type of personal development can provide.
